Relieving Stress Helps You to Be More Creative at Work: Craniosacral Therapy

Clients have come to my office, often feeling stressed and unable to work to their potential in their jobs. It's not always easy with all the demands that are placed on business owners and employees in the economy that we have had in the last 8 years.  With this said,  there has to be a solution to the problems that come along with a high stress life.

What can you do to make life easier?  Change your Brain:)

1.  Begin to slow down and meditate.  This doesn't necessarily mean sitting with your fingers posed and chanting "OM".  But that is a possibility too.  You can take walks in nature.  Bring your mind inward.  Follow Your thoughts and allow them to leave once they are through.  Be curious in the moment rather than judging your thoughts.  Listen for the harmony of life and allow everything else to slip into its own way.

2.  Open your mind to new possibilities.  Begin by examining your belief systems and how they affect your life.  Are your thoughts absolutely true?  Do you need to be right or do you want to be happy?  Look at things with fresh eyes and fresh ears!

3.  Take quiet time to close your eyes and take a power nap if need be.  It is amazing that a 10 minute nap in the afternoon can totally refresh you.

4.  Stop blocking what you feel in the moment and acknowledge what is present with mindfulness.  Often we hold things in, argue or hide what is important to us.  What if you decide that everything you feel is valuable and is helpful when heard and accepted as it is?

5.  Breath.  Don't forget to breath!  You'd be surprise how many people hold their breath and stop breathing in the richness of life.  Open your mouth and follow your breath.  Notice where is goes and where it stops.  Be kind to yourself in your exploration between breath and your environment.

6.  Get up and move.  Even if you take a five minute break, stretch and lengthen your body.  Sitting too much is not good for the body.

7.  Set up a Craniosacral Therapy (CST) Session schedule based on your needs.  CST is very relaxing and supportive of your nervous system.  If you are high strung, it usually helps to relax.  If you are low energy, CST tends to help you feel more energized.  It's all about balance and revitalization.

8.  Eat foods that make you feel better and stop eating that which doesn't.

9.  Exercise at least 30 minutes a few times a week.  Walk whenever possible.

10. Do fun things.  Smiling makes you feel good on so many levels!  When you are happy, you are more productive and can accomplish so much more.

Many of my clients feel more creative and fulfilled with their work when they take good care of themselves.
